At Garveriet, we make it simple to enjoy great food without compromising on sustainability.

Bakery & Café

Already when entering the doors to Garveriet, you will experience the smell of freshly baked bread and freshly-made food. In the centre of the kitchen you will find our pride – a wood-burning oven. The bakery choice is substantial, and while you stand and make your choice among the sourdough bread and cakes take the opportunity to have a good look at the massive wood fired oven a few metres behind the bakery. 

Restaurant

We want the ingredients we use to be honest and genuine. The menu is based on what local producers have to offer during the season, and varies according to the availability of ingredients. We work with small scale producers who really put their all into their products.

Garveriet has a Taste of West Sweden certification. This is awarded to restaurants, producers and farm shops that offer sustainable and genuine West Swedish products and food experiences based on seasonal local ingredients.

“Skafferiet”

We collect our ingredients from nature’s own pantry and buy from farmers that we know for sure grow their crops and breed their animals with care and respect. This approach is also applied in our kitchen. Our goal is zero waste both from cooking and from plates.

We always prioritise local- and nearby produce and customise our menu by season and availability. You can also buy local and nearby produce from our pantry “Skafferiet” (The Pantry) – the inhouse mini store.
